The Higher Education Network Education through Responsibility e.V. (HBdV) is an association of universities in German-speaking countries that has been in existence since 2009. The association is committed to strengthening civic responsibility and social engagement at universities. To this end, service learning is expanded in practice at universities, conferences are organized to further develop the idea, and political lobbying is carried out. Currently, 45 universities are part of the network.
